Natural Remedies For Hair Loss

Natural Remedies For Hair Loss

In today’s Instagram live I talked about the different natural remedies you can use to support hair loss. Before diving into the suggestions I want to repeat that hair loss can be coming from a deeper root cause. For those that suffer from a health condition like thyroid disease, autoimmune disease, or another illness, typically have hair loss because the body is telling you something is wrong. So getting to the root cause of your issue will always eliminate the symptoms that follow.

If you have a thyroid disease and want to focus on finding the root cause, you can check out the Thyroid Healing Community.

Natural Remedies

Castor Oil

Castor oil can be used on the scalp to help prevent and treat hair loss. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties make it great against follliculitus, dandruff, and scalp infections and ricinoleic acid helps increase circulation to the scalp and improve hair growth.

Ricinoleic acid is also said to help balance scalp pH which can also help give your scalp’s back it’s natural oils. The antioxidants in castor oil also support the keratin in hair and help make hair stronger.

How Often

You can use castor oil 1-2 times per week. It can be used more often if you prefer.

When to Use

You can apply it to wet and leave on for hours or overnight. I would use a shower cap because it can get messy.

Essential Oils

Essential oils are excellent for strengthening and nourishing your hair. When choosing an essential oil brand it is important to be cautious. There are many brands out there that are toxic and can do more harm than good. You want to be aware of how the oil is processed, the ingredients, and access to testing reports.

Lavender and Rosemary are known to help stimulate hair growth. You may use these oils individually or as blends showed below.
